Mr. Afşin was born in 1966 and has two children. His family settled in Germany in 1980, after his education Mr. Afşin has started his business life in construction and real estate industry in Germany in 1990. His business in construction sector has recently developed into renovation and monumental/historical restoration projects of state-owned sites. He currently owns construction companies conducting several construction and restoration projects in Germany. In 2009 based on his individual research and studies in environmental issues and waste oil refining and the growing need of industrial waste oil refinery in Turkey, he decided to initiate an investment in this field. Combined with his business entrepreneurship and value generation capacity of re-refining technology, TAYRAŞ has been founded in 2011. Following an extensive feasibility and technology assessments, the foundation of the refinery was laid in Bilecik-Osmaneli in 2018. The refinery was designed to have the best available technology to reduce carbon footprint, significantly reducing highly increased fossil fuel consumption of base oil production from virgin / crude oil production. TAYRAŞ refinery started full scale production in 2022, with the most advanced re-refining technology available, producing Group II+ and Group III Base Oils with high added value and low carbon footprint. Mr. Afşin has been the Chairman of the Board, and current CEO of TAYRAŞ, the leader of advanced re-refining industry in Turkey. He is also the Chairman of AYRASDER, the Re-refining Industry Association of Turkey, established in 2022.
He was born in Istanbul. He graduated from Darmstadt University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Computer Engineering. He has worked for many years in the banking, insurance, construction, and automotive sectors. He took part in TAYRAŞ as a founding and investor partner. He also has partnerships in various projects.
He was born in 1955 in Malatya. He graduated from Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine in 1980 and completed his specialization in the branch of physical therapy and rehabilitation. In his long-term career journey, he has served in various hospitals and health institutions, and has achieved the happiness of treating and healing many patients. He works at Private Buhara Hospital after his retirement. He is the founding member of TAYRAŞ.
Parallel to his studies in economics at the Ludwigs Maximilian University/Munich, Christian has managed the commercial part of a medium-sized machinery building company. He combines more than a 30 year of experience in the field of re-refining of used lubricants. As Managing Director, he has developed the BAUFELD group since 1990, providing specialized environmental services in Europe. He has driven the PURALUBE/PURAGLOBE group becoming one of the leading re-refiners in the world. Christian held the roles of President of GEIR (Group of Re-refiners in Europe) and Vice President of UEIL (Association of European Independent Lubricant Industry). Acting as Advisor and Chief Sustainability Officer at TAYRAŞ, he is responsible for international and Turkish lubricant markets and sales growth of the company.

He started his business life as a physician in 2016 to complete his State Service Obligation. After completing his State Service obligation, he became a member of the TAYRAŞ family. He worked in the accounting and finance department between 2017 and 2022, and was appointed as CFO as of 2022. He currently serves as a member of the Executive Board and CFO.

Has a Ph.D in Materials Engineering and started his career as an academician in the U.S.A. as Assistant Professor at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. He has worked as the Secretary General at ÇEVKO, Environmental Foundation between 1992-2003. Following that, he joined PETDER, Petroleum Industry Association as Secretary General, during which the Turkish Oil Industry has gone through a process of liberalization and privatization. After leading the association for ten years, he joined BP and then APM Terminals, and managed important foreign investment projects in the field of energy and logistics. Since 2018, he has been more in adivsory and academic roles and has been teaching “Energy Politics”, “Oil and Gas Markets” and “Renewable Energy” for the last 4 years in addition to part time role as Secretary General with the Turkish Aluminium Industry. Since 2021, he has been a part of TAYRAŞ team with executiev roles and currently acting as the Advisor to the Board of Directors.

He was born in Bolu. Since 1986, he has worked in executive roles in the construction sector in Turkey and abroad. Since 2012 he has been a part of TAYRAŞ team with executive roles and currently leading TAYRAŞ’s used oil collection and logistics operations
Barış Coşkun has been building corporate experience in the fuel and lubricants industry since 2003, covering sales, financial controlling, KPI management, budgeting, and customer service operations. Since August 2023, he has been serving at TAYRAŞ Base Oil Refinery Inc. as Executive Committee Member and Director responsible for base oil sales. Previously, he held the role of Retail & Industrial Sales Director at AS GRUP, taking end-to-end responsibility from organization build-up to growth and profitability focus. At Petrol Ofisi, he worked across Aviation & Marine and the Lubricants Directorate, where he led the rollout of the company’s first digital lubricants portal / e-ordering platform and subsequently delivered the LPG Automation Project, strengthening end-to-end digital management of operational processes. He holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Gazi University.
He is a graduate of the Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Chemical Engineering. Shaping his career in the refinery and energy sectors, Ertuğrul Kılıç has extensive experience in production and operations management, particularly in waste oil re-refining and base oil production. Since 2018, he has been with TAYRAŞ Base Oil Bilecik Refinery, where he played a key role in the establishment, commissioning, and transition to full-scale production of Turkey’s first and only Group II & Group II+ base oil refinery. He currently serves as Refinery Manager, overseeing production, maintenance, utilities, and HSE functions in an integrated manner. As a Member of the Executive Committee, he assumes the role of Chief Production Officer (CPO) and, as the refinery’s legally designated Responsible Manager, is accountable for environmental, operational, and occupational health and safety obligations. He is currently pursuing an MBA at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.
